Nowadays, due to the development of laparoscopic instruments and improvement of surgical technique, laparoscopic pancreas surgery is becoming more widely adopted. Laparoscopic distal pancreatectomy has now become a standard procedure for the benign or borderline malignant tumor located in body or tail of pancreas, but laparoscopic spleen and splenic vessel preserving distal pancreatectomy is still a technically demanded operation.
