N2  - The concept of Nd:YAG laser pulmonary metastasectomy using an open approach has been well established. In recent years this concept has developed into a minimally invasive thoracoscopic technique. This technique offers patients both the benefits of thoracoscopic surgery and those of a laser resection. We discuss the surgical approach to this procedure, the specific technical considerations and the advantages of using laser resection compared to conventional stapled techniques.
