The Cardiac column is set out to cover all spectrum of cardiac disease research and innovations. It’s aimed to cultivate the frontiers and foremost scientific and progressive work on aortic genomics, metabolomics and proteomics. The column will also interrogate innovations and scientific revolution to understand the molecular pathophysiology of the aortic wall, through imaging technologies, fundamental understanding of evolving aortic natural history, monitoring and decision-making and surgical and interventional therapies. The column will cross-fertilize ideas between different disciplines that have input in cardiac disease and surgery. It will incorporate and accompany progression of educational and scientific meetings allowing to capture the phase of change in cardiac surgery prospect and reflect this to our wider readership.
