Allen Cheng, MD

Research interests: heart and lung transplantation, mechanical circulatory support, minimally invasive cardiac surgery, atrial fibrillation, transcatheter aortic valve replacement and pulmonary thromboendarterectomy

Dr.Cheng is a cardiovascular surgeon who did his general surgery training at UCLA, cardiothoracic surgery fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital/ Harvard Medical School and cardiac surgery postdoctoral fellowship at Stanford University. He is currently the Surgical Director of Heart Transplantation at Rudd Heart and Lung Center, Jewish Hospital, University of Louisville. His clinical interests include heart and lung transplantation, mechanical circulatory support, minimally invasive cardiac surgery, atrial fibrillation, transcatheter aortic valve replacement and pulmonary thromboendarterectomy. Dr.Cheng is also a principle investigator at Cardiovascular Innovation Institute with research focus in left ventricular assist device and heart transplantation.
