Dr. Brunicardi is the Moss Foundation Chair in Gastrointestinal and Personalized Surgery, Professor and Vice Chair of Surgical Services, and Chief of Santa Monica General Surgery for the David Geffen School of Medicine at University of California Los Angeles. He previously served for 16 years at Baylor College of Medicine where he was the DeBakey/Bard Professor and Chairman of the Michael E. DeBakey Department of Surgery.
His clinical expertise includes gastrointestinal surgery and surgery of neuroendocrine tumors, and his research focuses on translational genomic medicine and surgery. He has served as Editor-In-Chief of Schwartz’s Principles of Surgery since 2002 and is a member of more than 36 professional societies, including the American Diabetes Association.
