Robotic Surgery
We are honored to present to you, in this edition the newest most up to date technical details of robotic surgery. We have assembled many articles that describe in specific details the newest innovations for many robotic operations, such as thymectomy, esophagectomy, lobectomy and even segmentectomy. In addition, we present an article on how to transition from video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery to robotic as more and more surgeons are making the move, almost daily now. In the following pages, we present the why, the how and the optimal manner in which to perform robotic surgery. The concept of team cannot be stressed enough as robotic surgery even more so then most surgical platforms, is a team sport. The value of robotic surgery to the patient, to the surgeon and to the institution is presented. Since robotic surgery is a continually advancing specialty that literally evolves quarterly, these types of articles are preferred over textbooks that lag behind. We hope you find this edition engaging and informative and that you are able to successfully bring them back to your practice. Our goal is for your patients to enjoy superior outcomes and for both you and your patients enjoy higher satisfaction.
