Abstract

When major bleeding occurs, a surgeon should manage it in a suitable way. The risk of bleeding is minimal when the team members involved have accumulated sufficient relevant experience, have been repeatedly educated on the procedure, and have meticulously reviewed the anatomy. At the time of surgery, proper usage of surgical devices and accurate communication between personnel is also critical to minimizing major bleeding. Minimally invasive surgery (MIS) including robotic surgery has been widely accepted for most thoracic procedures in Korea. We describe our expert experience in dealing with intraoperative bleeding during MIS.
